New rental assistance program now being offered in Kenner

The City of Kenner Community Development Department has been awarded a grant from the Louisiana Housing Corporation to provide homeless prevention services to Kenner residents. Eligible families and individuals who have been served an eviction notice and face the threat of becoming homeless may be eligible for financial assistance to prevent them from becoming homeless.
Applications are available at the following locations:
• Kenner Food Bank, 315 Worth St.
• M.L.K Community Re-source Center, 1042 31st St.
• Hispanic Resource Center, 4312 Florida Ave.
Families and individuals who currently live within the incorporated city limits of Kenner, La. and meet the following income guidelines are eligible for the program:
• 1 person —$11,000/yr
• 2 persons — $13,400/yr
• 3 persons — $15,050/yr
• 4 persons — $16,750/yr
• 5 persons — $18,100/yr
• 6 persons — $19,400/yr
• 7 persons — $20,700/yr
• 8 persons — $22,100/yr.
Household income will be verified.
