Orleans Parish voter registration week kicks off

12th May 2014   ·   0 Comments

The Orleans Parish Registrar of Voters’ Office announces Voter Registration Week to be held May 12, 2014 through May 16, 2014. This year’s theme, Build Community, Forge Change—Vote, serves as a reminder to New Orleanians that our votes can make positive differences within our communities and create opportunities for community change.

The Uptown Whole Foods Store, two churches, two nursing homes, Landry Walker High School, Vayla New Orleans, and libraries across the city are serving as voter registration sites to get out the Build Community, Forge Change–Vote message. Both our City Hall and Algiers’ offices conduct voter registration year round, to include Voter Registration Week. The League of Women Voters, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. and their affiliates, and the Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club Inc. have volunteered to help increase voter registration and participation in Orleans Parish by being a part of this effort.
