Nakisha Ervin-Knott recollected, “I was born and raised in the Lower 9th Ward and spent a great deal of time with my great-grandmother, Emma London. She taught me that all people are created equal and that no matter what your circumstances and/or your socio-economic status is, that we are all God’s children and everyone deserves to be treated with the same respect and dignity. She also instilled in me that no matter what your title is in life, it is not your position that defines you but the deeds you do while you are on earth.”

“I learned at an early age, and continue to hold the values today, that an attorney is what I do and not who I am, and it is those values that I believe will allow me to examine each and every situation fairly and justly, so that justice will be provided to all, in a deliberate yet fair manner.”

“I am running for Civil District Court Judge, Division “D” because this division deserves a hard-working, efficient and energetic judge.” Ervin-Knott’s platform includes a “Commitment to maintaining an efficient docket; Providing equal access to justice to all, rather than a select few; and Treating all who appear who before Division “D” with fairness and equality, whether they are male or female, whether they represent corporations, businesses or individuals.”
