(Defender News Service) — In honor of the 2020 National Minority Enterprise Development Week (MED Week), the U.S. Black Chambers (USBC) will join the national network of Minority Business Development (MBDA) Business and Specialty Centers across the country in demonstrating support and commitment to the Black and minority business community.

The inaugural launch is intended to encourage corporations, government buyers, and individuals to shop and purchase goods and services from Black and minority-owned business community. Buy MBE Day also offers an important forum for helping generate awareness of the economic and societal contributions made by Black-owned and minority firms.

“The U.S. Black Chambers is extremely proud to join MBDA in creating greater awareness of access to capital, contracts, and markets,” said Ron Busby, President of the U.S. Black Chambers. “We’re gearing up for Buy MBE Day to do all we can to help promote and commemorate the day throughout our community and to inspire others to spend more dollars with Black-owned businesses.”

Joining forces with the national network of MBDA Business Centers and Specialty Centers, the U.S. Black Chambers’ President Ron Busby will serve as a guest speaker during MED Week, will champion and promote support for Black-owned firms, and will continue to advocate for resources for Black-owned businesses impacted by the pandemic.
