N.O.-based Black writers group to celebrate two-year milestone

A New Orleans-based minority writers group is hosting a series best cash advance in PITT of public readings this summer in celebration of its two-year anniversary. The group, MelaNated Writers Collective, plans to begin its summer reading series Friday, June 1, at the New Orleans Museum of Art as part of the museum’s Where Y’Art? program.

Members of the collective will take the stage to present original works of literature from all genres from fiction to screenwriting and memoir to poetry.

According to a press release circulated by the group, the collective was established in July company loan 2010 as a “safe place for writers of color to hone their craft in a nurturing environment among their peers.” The release also states that the collective includes writers from a variety of cities such as San Francisco, Memphis, Cleveland and London who now reside in New Orleans.

A schedule of events follows:
• Friday, June 1. at 7 p.m. New Orleans Museum of Art as part of Where Y’Art?, One Collins C. Diboll Circle, City Park. Admission: Museum Entry. Hosted by Kalamu ya Salaam, founder of cash advance belleville il the NOMOO Literary Society.

• Thursday, August 2, at 7 p.m. JuJu Bag, 5363 Franklin Ave. Admission: Free. Hosted by Dr. Felipe Smith, member of Congo Square Writers.
