The Hard Truth… Recognizing the face of evil

Last month it came out that the Hiller Armament Company of Virginia had been selling gun targets that look like Trayvon Martin, complete with a hoodie, Skittles, and iced tea. Then it was reported that targets bearing Martin’s likeness had sold out at a gun show.
This should get your attention…in a bad way.
The people who made and purchased these targets are undeniably racist, white supremacists and cowards. Instead of having any compassion or sorrow about the loss of another young life, they are saying to the world, “We would like to shoot unarmed Black youths who are minding their own business. We think this is funny. We encourage this behavior.” Folks, that does not even qualify as a human response to the death of a child. Apes do better.
This just might be a declaration of intent for war, a war of extermination, also known as Genocide. You should know that we live inside of a nation, the USA, which has for decades refused to sign the United Nations Non-Genocide Pact.
The Trayvon bullseye targets are just another manifestation of the evil and darkness that has spread across this land. Don’t get it twisted, this nation was built on lies, theft, oppression and exploitation but it used to feign cash advance bald hill road an allegiance to God or Godly principles.
Conservative talking heads have had a major role in changing the national emotional and spiritual climate during the past thirty years or so. They are a big part of the face of evil. Rush Limbaugh, Hannity, O’Reily, Beck and their local clones in every city are ministers representing a certain spirit. It shows on their faces. That common scowl is not just a facial expression, it’s called a countenance. It’s an outward sign of the spirit of hatred eating at their insides.
What are these guys (and females) really selling? Anger, fear, hatred and malice, disguised as a political dialogue. Every show is an exercise in outrage and they will lie or twist the truth to achieve this. They were always bad, but have really gone nuts since Obama was elected. They don’t even feign integrity. Anything Obama does is spun to be bad…even if it is what they said he should do or the exact same thing his predecessor did. If Obama did it, it was either outrageously wrong or not worth mentioning. They have virtually begged for the man’s assassination.
“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8

What’s worse is that their followers are so ignorant and gullible. These guys have been caught in lies, lies they have repeated after they were exposed. Some have been screamed for tougher laws and then been busted for drugs. They continually make unproven, ridiculous claims. Still their followers tune in everyday for to get their scheduled dose of anger and outrage. This is what they feed their spirits. This is what they, in turn, carry out to the world.
Notice in newspaper blogs the horrible mean-spirited comments made by white racists, even in situations where a normal person would have compassion or praise. These mutants feel obligated to find something nasty to say. Someone gets hurt? They had it coming. A Black kid wins an academic competition? Here comes the insult. A Black person saves a life or discovers something? “Yeah, but what about those Black, monkey criminals?” These people have been trained by the Limbaughs, etc., to find something foul or disparaging to say about any situation, to generate a mean or racist comment about any topic presented to them. Ask them about space exploration, you’ll get: “Bet there won’t be no welfare cheats on Mars.”
Yes, they still use “code-words” because they are still too gutless to admit hating Black people.
This, folks, is a programmed way of thinking that has birthed or drawn a spirit. The current controversy requirements for installment loans over bullying is also a manifestation of this. Kids are mimicking the insensitivity and meanness of the Becks, Limbaughs etc.
And their religious leaders are going along with the program. Have you noticed any white preachers getting up and challenging hate radio or TV? They know what’s coming, yet they refuse to warn the people for fear of losing popularity.
But for Black people the faces of evil take many forms. Hip Hop started out as a positive cultural trend for us and there are still a handful of positive rappers. However gangsta rap is clearly a face of evil. It offers no hope and no vision for a better day. It focuses on and glorifies the worst and lowest aspects of our beings: violence, crass materialism, ignorance and savage behavior. Think of the emotions, values and spirits generated by this most popular form of entertainment that is aimed at our young. Then look at how life imitates art with young people trying their best to mimic the dress, attitudes, culture and language of the drug game. It consistently degrades the very sisters who spend who make it profitable. It does not accurately reflect who we are. Most of our people are not and will never be “in da game.”
Many of our own prophets are useless to us in this regard. I’ve seen folks like Michael Eric Dyson, waffle and punk out on panels dealing with the issue because the truth is not popular.
In Louisiana the Governor is purely the face of evil. Piyush “Bobby” Jindal has ruined the state’s economy by giving increasing tax breaks to the very wealthy few under the pretext that they will take the money and create jobs. This has never happened here or anywhere else but that is not his real reason. He wants to be in the White House and this is a way of buying support from the rich at the expense of everyone else. Hospitals, schools, colleges and social programs are all suffering as never before. He has created a misery across this state that may not have a historical equal. This is not just bad politics, it’s evil, E-V-I-L.
The bible says, “He who oppresses the poor to increase his riches, And he who gives to the rich, will surely come to poverty.” Proverbs 22:16. This is a pure and accurate description of the man Piyush “Bobby” Jindal.
Evil is coming at us from all sides. It’s really time for us to decide what we will DO to save ourselves. Next time let’s talk about how we’re going to win this war. The Calvary ain’t coming……and that’s the Hard Truth.
