Civil rights groups hold vigil for Trayvon Martin

The New Orleans Branch of the NAACP, the Urban League of Greater New Orleans, the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance (IMA), the Baptist Minister’s Conference of Greater N.O., and other concerned organizations and clergy will participate in the “Justice for Trayvon” 100 City Vigil, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 20, 2013, steps of the United States District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana, 500 Poydras Street. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. The purpose of the Vigil is to demand that the U.S. Department of Justice conduct a full and open investigation of the murder of Trayvon Martin and bring the appropriate federal charges against those responsible. On July 20, 2013, organizations throughout America will conduct similar vigils.
