Essence Fest once again attracts Carol’s Daughter

Like baseball, hot dogs and fireworks, no 4th of July celebration is complete without the Crescent City, the Essence Music Festival and Carol’s Daughter.

For the eighth year, the popular natural beauty company returns to New Orleans for the 4th of July weekend with the premiere of Mary J. Blige’s new fragrance, and a little lagniappe.

Carol’s Daughter will again set up shop at the French Quarter boutique, July 1–3 in the La Belle Galerie space, 309 Chartres Street, from 10:00am to 7:00 p.m.

Fans can get to meet the Hip Hop Queen of Soul before she takes the stage at the Essence Music Festival on Sunday, July 3. Blige will highlight the weekend of Carols’ Daughter events with a second line taking place Saturday at 2:30 p. m, beginning at the Convention Center and ending at the boutique with a meet & greet.

The weekend will be the first preview of My Life Blossom, Blige’s newest fragrance. The newest faces of Carol’s Daughter-Solange Knowles, and Cassie and Selita Ebanks will also be on hand.

“Being in New Orleans over the years has meant so much to me personally,” Carol’s Daughter founder Lisa Price said. “This city is full of such beautiful people and has such an amazing energy; it is electric and Carol’s Daughter loves coming back here every summer for the July 4th weekend.”

The new Monoi hair repair collection a new as well as favorites like Ecstasy and Almond Cookie products will be available.

Committed to giving back to New Orleans community, Carol’s Daughter will also hold an annual shopping fundraiser on June 30 to benefit New Orleans’ Saturday Music School. The New Orleans Jazz Institute/ Capital One-UNO Charter School Network partnership has redefined music education through offering a most comprehensive and diverse experience to area children ages eight to 17.

Throughout the weekend, customers of the boutique will have access to meet and greets with founder Lisa Price, Jennifer Hudson, Trey Songz, Jill Scott, New Orleans Hornet Chris Paul, and more.
