International School of Louisiana Jefferson Parish, a language immersion charter school, now accepting applications

Parents in Jefferson Parish have earn free money until June 30 to enroll their children in grades K-7 in the new International School of Louisiana Jefferson Parish (ISL-JP) Campus, to be located at 822 S. Clearview Parkway.
To accommodate non-fluent Spanish-speaking students in grades six and seven, the award-winning language-immersion school will be offering a special Spanish Language Intensive Program that will be exclusive to ISL-JP, announced Head of School Sean Wilson.
To learn more about ISL-JP and its programs, two information sessions for prospective parents will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 16, 10-11:30 a.m. at ISL‘s Uptown Campus at 1400 Camp Street.
Applications can be picked up weekdays and submitted at ISL’s Westbank Campus at 502 Olivier St. in Algiers or its Uptown Campus at 1400 Camp St. from 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Applications can also be downloaded at www.isl-edu.org.
Head of School Wilson secure instant cash loans said the two-track program for the middle-school grades is exclusive to the Jefferson Parish Campus and will allow the school to accommodate more children seeking the school’s award-winning curriculum.
“The two-track program accommodates the fluent and non-fluent Spanish-speaking student,” Wilson said. “A sixth- or seventh-grader can enroll for the 2012-2013 academic year in our Traditional Language Immersion program, for fluent Spanish speakers, or choose the Language Intensive Program, for students with no prior Spanish language experience. We wanted to accommodate all children who wanted to come to our middle school, even those without foreign language experience. So come on in! Our doors are open for a wonderful learning experience.”
For the 2012-13 school year, ISL-JP will offer traditional Language Immersion in Spanish and French for grades K-5 and a Spanish Language Intensive Program for the middle school, grades sixth and seventh. Students in dinner club personal loan second through fifth grade will need prior language immersion experience. The ISL-JP Middle School Program will expand to eighth grade for the 2013-14 academic school year, according to Head of School Wilson.
ISl-JP is only open to Jefferson Parish residents. ISL has two language-immersion schools in Orleans, offering Spanish, French and Mandarin immersion for grades K through eighth. ISL consistently ranks as one of Louisiana’s highest-performing, open-admissions charter schools, according to state test-score rankings.
Description of ISL-JP Middle School Programs
Traditional Language Immersion
Students who select the traditional language-immersion program must be grade-level fluent in Spanish; students may be native speakers, bilingual or transfers from other language immersion programs. These students will take a dedicated block of Spanish Language Arts daily to maintain a high level of academic literacy in Spanish. All CORE academic classes will be taught in English. Prior to admittance a grade-level assessment will be given to native speakers and bilingual students who do not come from a Jefferson Parish language-immersion program.
Language Intensive Program
Students with no prior language experience will be placed in the Language Intensive Program. These students will be immersed in a specially designed Spanish-intensive program for new language learners in which they will receive a dedicated block of language instruction daily. All CORE academic classes, English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies will be taught in English. The mission, regardless of point of entry, is that all students grow in their productive language capacities through ISL’s commitment and expertise at language immersion.
