Local groups host Affordable Care Act enrollment and information session

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. New Orleans Alumnae, the Daughters of Charity and 1Voice present an Affordable Care Act Enrollment and Information Session
New Orleans, LA – Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. New Orleans Alumnae Chapter, the Daughters of Charity New Orleans, and 1VOICE will be hosting two Affordable Care Act Enrollment and Information sessions on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. in the Holy Ghost School Cafeteria, 2035 Toledano Street and on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 6:00 pm in the St. Peter Claver School Cafeteria, 1020 N. Prieur Street. The information sessions will provide opportunities for citizens residing in the Greater New Orleans area to get the facts about the Affordable Care Act and learn about the importance of signing up for coverage. Representatives of 1VOICE will also be on hand to help individuals enroll onsite and gain coverage before the enrollment deadline of March 31, 2014.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization that was founded in 1913 whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. A sisterhood of more than 200,000 predominately Black college educated women, the Sorority currently has over 900 chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas and the Republic of Korea.
The Daughters of Charity have provided access to high-quality compassionate health care to greater New Orleans residents for more than 175 years. The organization’s four health care centers are conveniently located in Bywater, Carrollton, Metairie and New Orleans East, offering primary and preventive health services to all—with special attention to the uninsured and underinsured. Optometry, dental, behavioral/mental health, prenatal care, pediatric care, and pharmacy services are also available.
