Louisiana couple pursues record-breaking nuptial for ‘Hope’

Soul mates and best friends, John and Kimberly Dilosa are well respected in the Greater New Orleans circuit for their tireless and creative efforts in the area of youth mentoring. So it’s no surprise that the couple’s 10-year vow-renewal celebration would include a special caveat for local youth.
“We didn’t want a traditional wedding. We wanted it to mean something. Since we’ve been married, we’ve been giving back to the community, and we wanted the vow renewal to reflect that,” said Kimberly who in 1997 founded the YOUTHanasia Foundation, which has since served as a mentoring beacon for hundreds of best cash advance in Oklahoma local youth.
So when the couple renewed their vows at Café Hope in Marrero on December 17, they raised over $500 for the café.
“Café Hope provides young people the skills abilities and support that they can transfer to a career and self-sufficiency,” says Stewart Young, director of youth services at Café Hope, who adds that the organization is consistently supported by individuals like the John and Kim who find “creative ways” to help youth.
Café Hope donations are still pouring in the Dilosas’ name, but that’s only half of the story.

The current record is 79 bridesmaids to one bride, according to Sara Wilcox with Guinness World Records. The recordholders are Christa Rasanayagam and Arulanantham Suresh Joachim who were married in Canada in 2003.
With a bridal party that far exceeded that number, the Dilosas are sure they’ve broken that record and are in the process of confirming and finalizing data with Guinness World Records, which accepted the couple’s record-breaking proposal earlier short term loan maryland this year.
“I’m overjoyed. I’m full. I’m elated. Ten years with your best friend says a lot,” John said of the couple’s milestone. He adds that the occasion to highlight that milestone in such a unique way is only indicative of the Dilosas’ love for the community and the community’s reciprocity.
“The deepest human feeling is to be appreciated,” said John who emphasizes that neither he nor Kim seek praise for their efforts. But he admits that the support that the two have received in this endeavor to break a record and support a noble cause is overwhelming.
