Memorial Service for Richard Thomas Jr. to be held on October 29

A Memorial Service will be held for Richard Charles Thomas Jr., on Sunday, October 29, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the John McDonogh VFW Hall, 475 Monroe Street in Gretna, La.

Mr. Thomas died on October 16 at Oschner Hospital. He was 67.

RICHARD THOMAS JR.

A native of New Orleans, Mr. Thomas, the son of the late Richard Charles Thomas Sr. and the late Juanita Giles Thomas, graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.

He is survived by his ex-wife Elizabeth Taylor Thomas, sisters Audrey Scipio, Adeline Jacobs (Hogan), Shirley Cryer (late Milton), Joyce Chambers (Marion); his children Jerri Thomas-Williams (Harry), Efram Scipio (Lorraine), Richard A. Jones Sr. (Bridgett), Keith Thomas (Shameka), Courtney Thomas; adopted child Minh Pham, 13 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.

He was preceeded in death by his mother, Juanita; father, Richard and sisters, Betty and Jacqueline Thomas.
