Time for a change

5th November 2018   ·   0 Comments

In the midterm elections on November 6th, I am supporting Tammy Savoie for election to Congress in District 1 and I hope that your readers will join me. She is a native Louisianan, a 38-year military veteran, a Ph.D. graduate, and a political newcomer. She supports requiring health insurers to accept people with preexisting conditions, true tax relief for middle and low-income taxpayers, tariff-free trade, strong support for education, environmental protection, border security, and a strong military.

The current incumbent, Congressman Steve Scalise, repeatedly voted for legislation which would allow insurance companies to not insure or charge higher premiums for those of us with preexisting conditions, voted for tax reductions for corporations and the very wealthy with very little going to middle and low income earners, supports tariffs which are hurting our economy, and having never served doesn’t have a true understanding of, and appreciation for, the military and veterans.

Louisiana is near the bottom of the heap when it comes to education, healthcare, and other important areas. Congressman Scalise as a professional politician has done little for Louisiana with his 10 years in Louisiana’s legislature and 10 years in Congress. Time for a change. Let’s do some draining of the Washington swamp by sending Tammy Savoie to Congress!
